Hydro-boost braking systems are not new technology. They have been around since the 60's.  Very common in the USA especially in the larger utilities and are becoming more common these days especially with modified vehicles.

The main advantage is you are no longer reliant on vacuum pumps or the engines ability to supply vacuum. A hydro boost uses the power steering hydraulics at 1000psi to instantly assist with braking. You can depress the brake pedal 50 times consecutively and every application is the same. The hydro-boost system also allows for a far superior vehicles braking ability.
